Mastering Social Media: Why Consistency is Your Best Marketing Strategy

Want to know how to get your business noticed on social media?

It’s just one thing really.

It may sound a little boring but don’t be fooled by that.

The real secret to getting noticed on social media is consistency.

See? Nothing exciting or sexy in that.

However, consistency is essential in building your brand to be recognizable online and synonymous with your name.

When that happens, so will the excitement because you will have achieved that for yourself and your business will be growing.

Let’s find out how to get there!

Get it on your calendar, whatever calendar you use.

As a business owner, especially with a business that may be or have begun as a side-hustle, discipline is what is going to make the difference for you.

Your time is incredibly valuable because at this stage, you are wearing all or most of the hats for the various jobs your business requires to operate and promote itself.

Your calendar is one of the best tools you can use to schedule tasks for certain days, including your social media posting. That way, you can use the time you allocate to your business efficiently.

Engaging with other people’s posts and your own social media can be done throughout the day but posting on social media requires a little more focus and time on the days you post.

Decide what you are going to post.

You can help yourself out by putting details of your content into your calendar entries. This helps keep your content focused on a specific subject or concern which can help build your authority with your audience.

  • the content details to put into your calendar are:
  • the content topic
  • dates of creation and publishing the content
  • who is responsible for producing the content if you are not working alone
  • holidays and events that may impact your posting schedule

This list applies all types of content you may want to produce whether that be:

  • a newsletter
  • a blog
  • your own social media posts
  • short- or long-form videos
  • podcast recording

Decide where you are going to post and how often you will post there.

This is where you will decide what type of content you will post and where it will be posted, which will go onto your calendar. That may look something like this initially:

One of the main benefits of getting all this information onto your calendar is that you will now have a tool to help you schedule a time to write or record without having to do all of those tasks on the same day. It can be very stressful to create or write content on the day you have chosen to post it.

This way, you can choose how and when best to use your time for content creation so your posting schedule can be accomplished weekly.

This is why your calendar will become your greatest asset for consistency in posting.

This is how you really build an audience.

Most importantly, this is how you outlast your competitors. Plenty of entrepreneurs do not make this practice a habit.

When you are deciding what to post about and how you want to do it, keep in mind that to succeed in business, you need to be willing to do what your competitors will not.
