Keeping Your Audience Engaged: The Key to Continuous Content Success

On social media, there is one sure way that we have learned to know when we have made a big impact: the moment when one of our posts goes viral.

This is the thing: a viral post is like a flash of lightning. It can come from anywhere. It’s unpredictable.

It does not last for long.

And, it does not happen for everyone.

So what do you do to get and keep attention on your content all the time?

That one question can create a lot of stress for people promoting their businesses on social media. When your business is mainly you doing all the things, wearing all the hats, writing your own copy can be one of the bigger hassles you face.

Writing does not come easily to everyone and initially, you may choose to use the same types of content other people in your niche may be using to promote their businesses.

You know what? That’s not a bad thing. Learning how to write copy that reflects you and your business takes time. You can learn a lot from people in your niche who have been doing what you are doing too.

When you begin like this, you can easily see which pieces of your content get more attention than others. Take note of that.

When people engage with your content in likes and comments, they are letting you know you are talking about what they want to talk about.

That’s the foundation of consistent, engaging content: talk about what they want to talk about. All the time.

Even if someone has purchased from you or chatted with you in DMs before, we like to revisit accounts and pages that talk about the things we care about.

When someone is progressing in getting to the solution to the problem that brought them to you in the first place, reading your posts can be encouraging and validating to them as they continue on their journey.

Just because you posted about something once does not mean you cannot post on it again. If that original post got some or a lot of engagement, post something similar as you know what your audience wants to talk about.

Us copywriters call that repurposing content and we do it regularly.

People like to read and interact with content they care about frequently. The subjects that interest us will continue to attract our attention and we will go in search of those subjects automatically.

Just think about what you do when you get on social media: those are the people and creators you subscribe to.

This is powerful leverage as you promote your business online. When you get more comfortable writing your posts, you will begin to develop your own way of expressing yourself and that’s what is going to set you apart in your niche.

You want to make sure the people who resonate with you and your posts are the ones that can become your customers.
